In order to provide LED lights at affordable prices, Tamil Nadu government has launched a new scheme to sell LED lights at subsidised rates to the people under Central government’s UJALA Scheme. Recently, this scheme was launched in Chennai and it will be extended across the state.
The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has launched the UJALA Scheme (Unnat Jyoti Affordable LEDs for All) in Mohali, Punjab for LED tube lights & 5 rated energy efficient fans.
Distribution of 1 crore LED bulbs in Odisha has led to annual energy savings of over 129 crore kWh. The savings on Electricity bills of 19 Lakh consumers is estimated at Rs. 519 crore per annum. Government of Odisha in association with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has successfully distributed over one crore LED bulbs in Odisha under the Government of India’s UJALA scheme (Unnat Jeevan by Affordable LEDs and Appliances for all).

Now its Sikkim turn to save electricity and use electricity in an efficient method.The UJALA scheme is an energy efficient scheme which was launched by our Former prime minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji all over the India.This scheme was launched on 5th January , 2015 after BJP came in government. Ujala yojana aims to provide efficient electricity by replacing 77 crore inefficient bulbs with Energy Efficient LED Bulbs.At present, over 20.83 crore LED bulbs, over 4.47 lakh LED tube lights and over 2.88 lakh energy efficient fans have been distributed and 16.53 lakh LED street lights have already been replaced in the country under UJALA Yojana.
“Ujala scheme” get launched in Jharkhand. Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today launched energy efficient fans and LED tube lights under the ‘Unnat Jeevan by Affordable LEDs and Appliances for All’ (UJALA) scheme in the state.Also under this occasion of launch of scheme a total 85 lakh LED bulbs have been distributed chief minister said. Ujala scheme is a scheme which aim to provide electricity in rural areas to the needy people. Chief Minister said that when he took charge two years ago, 30 lakh households out of 68 lakh did not have electricity, and since then seven lakh households have got it. » Read more
