Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Uttar Pradesh
Meneka Gandhi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development and MP from Pilibhit has written to the chief development officer (CDO) to include 730 homeless poor people in the list of those eligible for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) from 30 villages. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a housing scheme for the poor people. After aware of the matter, the CDO has directed the issue with proper consideration.
According to Gandhi’s assistant MP Verma, who looks after Amaria block, said these 730 villagers had not been enlisted in the socio-economic caste census (SECC) survey in 2011.
Chief development officer Indradev Dwivedi said the selection of beneficiaries under PMAY was subject to their enrollment in the Union government’s socio-economic caste census. He said, “In view of complaints received from those left out despite being eligible, the government had laid a provision to conduct a survey of all such persons and to send the report concerned for taking a decision on their inclusion in SECC.”
Dwivedi said the survey had begun in June and would be completed on July 31 across the state. The names forwarded by Gandhi would be checked with the survey report but their eligibility under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana would be subject to the decision taken by the government.
