After the government changes in UP, House for All Scheme (urban mission) under PMAY Uttar Pradesh has accelerated. In the first phase, the central government has approved the DPR to construct 11,286 houses in 32 cities.
Around Rs, 384.59 crores will be spent on the construction of these houses. The DPR, prepared by the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), was sent to the Center after approval from the State Steering Committee, headed by Chief Secretary, about two months ago.
In fact, the Center implemented this plan in 2015 but the previous government did not give it a special consideration. In comparison to the other states, UP is behind in starting this scheme.
By looking at the motive of the previous government, the government staff was not showing any interest in starting it. But in 2016, when the assembly election is near and the statement of the central government about the issue is continued, the state government started the scheme after a one-year delay but in the first phase, only the 11 thousand DPR is approved for the house.
