On Monday Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Venkaiah Naidu said that the supplementary guidelines for the PM Awas Yojana Urban will publish soon for enabling affordable housing in partnership with the private sector.
He also added government will tie up with the private builders to construct affordable housing. The Private builder’s response poorly for the requirement of the affordable housing schemes in almost all states under PM Awas Yojana Urban. The Prime Minister’s office called the meeting to review the scheme. The central government aims to achieve ‘Housing for All’ by 2022.
The NDA government has approved 20,25,573 houses under PM Awas Yojana Urban in three years (2014-15) is more than the UPA Government had Approved only 12,40,904 houses during 2004-2014. Naidu said, “The housing sector will get a fillip in the coming days with the Real Estate Regulation (and development) Act.”
The Minister said that “We are 24*7 reminding the states about the implementation of the act. We are reviewing it…RERA will be a game changer.” The minister also said that he has requested all the state government to established a regulatory authority, an appellate tribunal and notify the rules soon to ensure timely implementation of the act.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Poverty Alleviation has notified the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 on May 1 last Year. All state have to notify real estate rules, including the general rules and the agreement for sale rules and establish the real estate regulatory authorities and have to establish appellate tribunals by April 30, 2017. The government aims to run the Act on May 1.
The government had sent notify the remaining 32 sections of RERA which have not completion certificate, registration of property agents, and penalties for non-compliance which relate to registration of ongoing projects on last month. The government aims to register all the real estate projects and property agents until July 31.
Pune first city raise funds through bonds
The Minister said that “Pune will get listed on BSE on June 22,” Naidu said. Pune will be the First Indian city to raise funds through municipal bonds. After two decades it was the first Municipal Corporation which bond offering of Rs 2,300 crore. After that, it would be the country’s largest municipal.
Govt launched More Smart Cities
The Union Minister said that the government will announce more smart cities by the ends of this month. He also said, “About 800 projects worth Rs 34,000 crore are in various stages of implementation… Investment of Rs 1,34,000 crore has been approved in 60 selected smart cities.” Under the Smart City Mission, Government will be developed the basic infrastructure such as assured the pure water and interrupted power supply, sanitation and solid waste management, efficient urban mobility and public transport, IT connectivity, e-governance and citizen participation. The government will give Rs 100 crore for each of the five years of the mission. The central government will give around 50,000 crores for this project. 100 cities will be covered in the scheme.
