PM Awas Yojana Jharkhand – 15 Lakh Toilets Under MANREGA
PM Awas Yojana Jharkhand – Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the construction of toilets will be ensured under MNREGA in the residential areas of the rural areas. Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma has directed this. He gave the responsibility for this work directly to the DDC. During the video conferencing in the review meeting of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department on Friday, the Chief Secretary gave directions about this.

The Chief Secretary directed to accelerate the work of construction of 15 Lakh toilets by the end of this financial year and in the process of fast mobilization. She said, with this work, all the well-being and Village Sanitation Committee should be added. She also directed to complete the photo-uploading work faster. At present, photos of 80% of toilets are uploaded. The CS has instructed that those Panchayats or Block ODF (free open defecation) have to be ensured by taking them into the ODF Plus. Many people were present in the meeting including Principal Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, AP Singh.
According to her, all gram the panchayats/blocks should start the construction of toilets at speed in which the Sakhi Mandals and the village cleanliness committees should also be included. She also asked to ensure transfer of funds in the accounts of the beneficiaries as per the necessary guidelines.
The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation will rest on the contract for clean India campaign. Under this, a Joint Director Technical, eight Consultant, one Chief Accounting and Accounting Clerk, two Stenographers, two Data Entry Operators and two Executive Assistants will be appointed. All will be appointed for a year now.
