Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is now Ujjwala Plus Scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce the Ujjwala Plus Scheme during the Independence Day speech from Red Fort on 15th August, according to Danik Jagran.
After the success of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana central government will launch the Ujjwala Plus Scheme. The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) objective to provide ‘ clean fuel, better life’ to all women which are under Below Poverty Line (BPL). The scheme objective is to make the rural Household smoke free.
In Ujjwala Plus Scheme, the official call to the LPG user to give up subsidy on cooking gas along with asking them to provide free LPG connection to needy people. The Ujjwala Scheme is a Social welfare scheme. It was launched on May 1, 2016, at Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. The scheme target to distributing five crore LPG connection to the BPL families. Center government has already distributed 2.5 crore LPG connection till mid-July, this year. Although, the scheme target to distribute five crore LPG in five years. President Pranab Mukherjee distributed the 2.5th crore LPG connection in his former Lok Sabha Constituency Jaginpur of West Bengal on July 15.
The scheme has given convenience to beneficiaries and only needy benefitting in the scheme. Through, the scheme the government will connect the common people. The Ujjwala Plus Scheme will be given an opportunity to bring free LPG connection to the poor household in any village. Through the scheme, central government to connect the well-off people. People make a personal contribution towards nation-building.
The LPG connection is limited in some state like Bihar, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal about 63 percent. So the Central government want to increase the scheme to all the needy household of the rural areas. so central government appeal to give up the subsidy.
