Odisha Govt. to Provides Skill Training to 6.3 Lakh Youth
The Odisha government has decided to provide Skill Training to 6,30000 Youth of Odisha by 2018-19. The Training will be given through the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikash Yojana (PMKK), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramin Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) and other initiatives.
In the Niti Aayog meeting in New Delhi on Monday, Chief Secretary of Odisha Government AP Padhi said about it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister spent about three hours among the Chief Secretaries of all 30 districts.
Padhi said that the ‘Odisha Model’ is a role model for the Skill development plans when the briefing about it.
He said the State Government has developed the Advanced Skill Training Institutes and Industrial Training Institutes for Skill development of the youth of Odisha. He also said Government has appointed Women Self Help Groups (WSHGs) as Project Implementation Agencies (PIAs).
The state government has been taken these steps for the best utilisation of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)’s Nirvana Fund. In the 2016-17 the Odisha Government has been honoured as the number one position by the Central Government under DDU-GKY.
Chief Secretary said that region behind of achievement of the scheme is rating and grading of the Skill training and opening of Active Placements Cells and Migration Support Centres.
He said that the Odisha Government has termed the “Skill” to Skilled in Odisha and in five years the Corporate India will be Known as the talent of Odisha. He also said that The Odisha Model will be the role model for all over the world.
