The state Government of Kerala (Social Justice Department) introduced a new scheme called Educational Assistance Scheme for Children of Women Headed Families to help women headed families. Kerala is known as god’s heaven country & the initiative taken by Kerala Government which is already appreciated for the literacy rate and Women Headed Families life makes easy with this kind of scheme Government provides financial assistance to women headed families to provide their families better life.

The women families who belong to below poverty line like HIV/AIDS affected persons, socially discriminated persons; war widows etc. can get benefits under this scheme. applications are collected by Child Development Project Officers through Anganwadi Workers and it will be forwarded to the District Social Justice Offices.

Benefits of Educational Assistance to Children of Women Headed Families:

  • Rs 300 per month: Children below 5 years& studying between 1st & 5th standard will get Rs 300 per month
  • Rs 500 per month: children’s who are studying between 6th & 10th standard will get Rs 500 per month
  • Rs 750 per month: children’s who are studying in 11th& 12thclass will get Rs 750 per month
  • Rs 1000 per month: children’s who are studying in degree and above will getRs 1000 per month

Eligibility for Educational Assistance to Children of Women Headed Families:

  • Applicant should be resident of Kerala state
  • Women families who belong to below poverty line like HIV/AIDS affected persons, socially discriminated persons, war widows etc are eligible for this scheme
  • Only two children’s per families are eligible for this scheme

Documents required for Educational Assistance to Children of Women Headed Families:

  • Aadhaar card
  • BPL card
  • Ration card
  • Educational details of child (previous exam mark sheet and bonafide certificate)
  • Application form

How to apply for Educational Assistance to Children of Women Headed Families:

  • Applications for this scheme are collected by Child Development Project Officers through Anganwadi Workers and it will be forwarded to the District Social Justice Offices
  • Applicant should visit anganwadis, Child Development Project Officers and social justice offices in Kerala state
