Jeevan Pramaan: -This is the biometric-enabled digital service for providing life certificate to the pensioners of Central or State Government, Defense Personnel or any other Government organisation.
National Informatics Centre, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India designed the portal and software of the Jeevan Pramaan.
Currently, in our country, more than 1 crore pensioners who get their pension through Pension Disbursing Agencies (PDAs) such as Post Offices, Banks, etc. In every November all the pensioners are required to submit a Life certificates to their PDAs agencies, either by personally presenting themselves to ensure continued and uninterrupted pension.
The Central Government has launched the Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners known as Jeevan Pramaan.
It digitises the whole process of Life Certificates. It makes the process is hassle-free and reduces the unnecessary Process. It eliminates the need of the physical presence of the pensioners for continuing the pensions.
Pensioners claim their pensions with the digital life certificates and prove his digital existence to the PDAs.
About 78.23 lakh Pensioners are registered with Jeevan Pramman. This is the optional system for the pensioners.
All who is get pensions can obtain Digital Life Certificates by enrolling with Jeevan Pramaan.
To continued receipt of pension with the Jeevan Pramaan, senior citizens don’t have to physically present themselves at government agencies.
Through the Jeevan Pramaan, pensioners generate life certificates from home using their computer and fingerprint scanner.
It also helps for the reducing the wrong disbursal of pension.

How to Apply
Visit the nearest Jeevan Pramaan Centres which are being operated by Citizen Service Centre (CSC), banks or other designated offices.
Pensioners have to pay a nominal fee for registering online using their services.
You can locate a centre near you at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/locater.
You can also send SMS typing JPL to 7738299899 to get a list of Jeevan Pramaan Centres near your residence.
Pensioners can also download the PC/Mobile application from home at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/app/download by providing their email Id.
After installing the application, the client software will help perform a registration for life certificate.
Pensioners will need to enter their necessary information/documents.
The information is authenticated online using Aadhaar platform. Pensioners will need to provide their biometrics, either a fingerprint or Iris (eye) scan for authentication.
After successful authentication, pensioners will receive an SMS acknowledgement along with a Jeevan Pramaan Certificate ID.
The Pensioners can downloads PDF copy their life certificates with the Jeevan Pramaan ID or Aadhaar Number.
Pensioners can deliver the digital life certificates to the Pensions Disbursing Agency without any manual intervention.
The digital life certificate is stored in the Life Certificate repository which can be accessed by the pensioners and Pension Disbursing Agencies as and when required by them.
