Haryana Government will give a lump sum of Rs 21 thousand to all those eligible families under the name of ‘Aapki Beti – Hmari Beti Yojana, whose third daughter was born after August 24, 2015. This will not only improve the sex ratio in the state, daughters will get a better education and the families of the below poverty line can get some financial help.
In the scheme being implemented in urban and rural areas, these facilities were being given to scheduled castes and BPL families only on the birth of two daughters. Ladli scheme has been merged with Aapki Beti – Hmari Beti Yojana.
But before 21st January 2015, any girl born in any family will be given benefits only according to the rules of the previous scheme. Laadli scheme was launched by the Women and Child Development Department in 2005 to reduce the fall in sex ratio and feticide in the state.
