On Thursday, Haryana Cabinet approved the extension of Metro Rail from Narela to Kundli in Sonipat district. The state and central governments are doing the construction of the project together. While Haryana is paying 80 percent of the cost, the center will bear the balance.
The expenditure of money has been laid out in the same way that the DMRC has been constructed in Gurugram, Faridabad and Bahadurgarh in Haryana.
An official spokesman said that the state government will pay 968.20 crores of its share. On this route 4.86 km will be three stations, Narela Sector 5, Kundali and Nathupura.
Work on Narela-Kundli proposed metro rail will start in April 2018 and work will be completed in March 2022. In the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the revised funding pattern of metro projects in the state was also approved.
