Central Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry has instructed public sector banks, including the National Housing Bank and HUDCO, to provide benefits of Credit link subsidy scheme (CLSS) to more and more people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. There is a need to encourage the scheme to achieve the goal of the plan by 2022.
Secretary of the Ministry Durga Shankar Mishra was reviewing the CLSS given under PMAY on Thursday. He has directed the National Housing Bank and Hooda, to make an action plan which is working as a nodal agency. The goal of the mission is to be brought on a fourth of the scheme under CLSS. On the other hand, nodal agencies have to identify 2,00000 people who are looking MIG categories house by December.
During the meeting, it was informed that as per the scheme, construction of 21 lakh economical houses has been approved so far. Of this, 43,166 EWS houses and LIG Houses holders have been given subsidy on loan interest. 824 crores have been spent on the scheme.
Since January 1 this year, Rs 5,0000000 has been given to the 250 beneficiaries of the scheme, after MIG category houses have brought in the scheme. In the meeting, Durga Shankar Mishra told that need to encourage the scheme.
