The government is going to bring new scheme for Jan Dhan account holders. It is believed that under PMJDY open bank account holders, three-year insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh (life insurance) will be given away for free to the account holders. The government wants to strengthen the social protection of the poor. For your information 27 crore accounts have been opened so far under Jan Dhan Yojana. Out Of these, 16 million are connected to the Aadhar Card.
The Government will have burden of Rs 9 crore of the scheme

Accident and life insurance cover under the insurance scheme is both burden of Rs 9,000 crore on the exchequer for government.

The government is already running 3 big schemes
In 2014, the government launched three social protection programs.
These premier security insurance scheme (PMSBY), Prime Minister Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) said.
- According to the Finance Ministry, 3.06 million people and 9.72 million PMSBY PMJJBY are connected.
- Insurance premiums-GDP ratio is very low in India. In 2015 it was 3.44 percent.
What is PMJJBY and PMSBY
- The Accidental death and disability are covered. In both cases the benefit of Rs 2 lakh is paid to the policyholder.
- PMJJBY being covered under life insurance, the initial premium of Rs 330 is charged. Under PMSBY Accidentl insurance annually spends Rs 12.
44 720 claims have been made under PMJJBY register, of which 40 375 have already been paid.
