EMI scheme for rooftop solar system in Telangana

A new scheme is going to be launched in Telangana named Equated Monthly Installment (EMI) scheme this scheme will be  based installation of rooftop solar energy for individual consumers. According to the government officials this scheme is in the progress in final stage of development before its launch. Sources said that this scheme will be announced soon.

Under this scheme after the installation As per the modalities prepared, each individual household will be able to install roof top solar energy panels to produce the power needed to meet their needs and the cost incurred can be paid through EMIs.
Also to make this scheme work government is asking with different banks to provide loan for launching a new loan scheme to pay for EMIs instead of paying power bills, sources said.

Telangana government has also set up many successful projects such as implementation of decentralized solar power generation at sub-station level and providing power to the agriculture sector have made the government to come with a new experiment. The new scheme will be announced in next budget session.Many things have been set to launch this scheme as now the State has installed 1000 megawatts of solar energy installed capacity and tenders to add 2,000 megawatts are under process. However, the Centre wanted the State to come up with at least one solar park in the State which is in the planning stage.

Note that  – Apart from solar energy, the State is already producing 100 megawatts of wind energy and efforts are on to scale it up by adding another 500 megawatts. It is also producing 128 MW of energy from other sources like biomass. The next scheme will be announced in upcoming budget.
