Annam Punyam Scheme

The district administration of Thiruvananthapuram has decided to extend the Annam Punyam Scheme. The scheme aimed at providing food for the hungry to more beneficiaries. The scheme implemented in association with Hotel and Restaurant Association. This will be introduced in more villages by Onam when the third phase of the programme is started. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held at the District Collectorate to assess the progress of the scheme.

The second phase of the scheme is being implemented in the district, presently. The scheme was launched in 2015 to ensure that no person in the district is left hungry. The government has currently distributed the coupon for food, from 27 village offices, 13 government hospitals, taluk offices and the district collectorate. Over 115 hotels are part of the scheme. Beneficiaries can collect the coupons from the centres and have food at selected hotel free of cost.

More hotels of the district have come up expressing interesting in being part of the scheme, according to the representatives of Hotel and Restaurant. Coupons are distributed at Board’s office and the hotels which are part of the scheme.

Village offices at Vanchiyoor, Attipra, Karikkakom, Cheruvakkal, Kadakampally, Kazhakkoottam, Nemom, Pangappara, Thiruvallam, Avanavancherry, Varkala, Nedumangad, Cheriyakollayil, Neyyatinkara, Perumbazhuthoor, Kowdiar, Kudappanakkunnu, Manacaud, Muttathara, Pattom, Peroorkada, Pettah, Sasthamangalam, Thycaud, Thirumala, Ulloor, Vattiyoorkavu.

Taluk offices at Thiruvananthapuram, Chirayinkeezh, Nedumangad, Varkala Government Hospitals at Fort, Thycaud and Peroorkada; General Hospital, Eye Hospital, Panchakarma and Homoeo hospitals, Ayurveda Hospital, Poojappura, Ayurveda college, Pangappara Health Centre, Poonthura Health Centre, Pulayanarkotta and Shantivila Taluk Hospitals.
