478 villages have been selected under central scheme Deen Dayal Upadhaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUJY) for electrification . Theses villages that have been selected identified as on-grid villages.Also the budget is Rs 199 crore has been sanctioned by the centre for electrification under Deen Dayal Upadhaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUJY). For the off-grid villages, the centre has sanctioned Rs 151 crores for electrification.
The decsion to electrify more villages on on grid and off grid system was taken during a meeting attended by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, representatives of Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on the ongoing DDUJY scheme being implemented in the state.
Also cheif minister take a look under the pending work from DDUJY. The villages where there is electricity, the agencies have been asked to provide 100% household electricity coverage.To make efficient implementation of electrification works, REC officials requested for a full-fledged office to be set up in Arunachal to monitor the ongoing works.
At present, almost 20 engineers are posted in each district to carry out the 100% electrification works in rural areas. Every week these officials make on spot surveys and report the status through a new app, GARV-II app to provide real-time data, informed the officials.
Chief Minister requested the agencies to make smart utilization of the funds and urged them to carry out proper monitoring to check the quality of work. Chief minster also requested to carry out the whole process efficiently and without problems.
